Val and I were friends in middle school before she moved. I can remember sitting together in her bedroom one day and reading her poems. She had one called "Time in a Bottle", which sticks out in my mind. Every time I hear that song on the radio, it reminds me of Val. I wish we had kept in touch. Looking at her photos from high school, she looked so pretty and so happy. I'm really glad that she was doing so well in life. I have thought about Val a lot through the years. I wonder what she would be doing now. I know that it would have been something great.
